Career Progression Stories: Natasha Davies
At 1625, we are passionately dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our colleagues, empowering them to excel in their careers. Explore Natasha Davies’s journey in our latest instalment of ‘Career Progression Stories.’
“I joined 1625 in September 2023 as Head Receptionist and Administrator, driven by my desire to be part of something bigger and to align with my values of helping others. Having worked up the ranks on Superyachts to being a TEFL teacher, coach and artist, I saw this as a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into how a charity organisation operates, understand the relationships between departments, and use my transferable skills while developing my administrative abilities.
In addition to my professional experience, I also bring lived experience to my role, which fuels my passion for supporting young people. This has given me a unique perspective and a deeper connection to the work we do. I really enjoyed learning how to use new systems and getting to know each of my colleagues. Most importantly, I felt supported by my manager in seeking new opportunities to grow. While still in the early stages of my role, I knew that I wanted to serve our young people in a deeper capacity and leverage my coaching skills. That’s when I decided to apply for an internal coaching position with Reboot as an EET & Wellbeing Coach.
Though I hadn’t been in a support role before, my Reboot managers recognised my passion, energy, and transferable skillset. They took a chance on me and offered me the position. It’s incredibly rewarding to work alongside colleagues who believe in you, with a shared purpose of helping young people. Every day feels like a learning experience as I dive into psychological tools, EET resources, and building trusting relationships with the support agencies and young people we serve.
The support I’ve received from my managers, my team, and the organisation as a whole has been invaluable as I transition into this role. I’m truly grateful for the time and space they’ve given me to gain experience and grow. It feels like everything I’ve worked toward in the last few years has led me to this path. I even get emotional when I think about the amazing work we do, helping young people realise their potential.
On top of that, it’s incredibly exciting to be part of the Heritage project and to witness the space being transformed to better suit the needs of both colleagues and young people. I couldn’t recommend working at 1625 enough—every day brings new challenges, new opportunities, and a deep sense of fulfilment.”
