Health and Wellbeing

Our mission is to support young people to be the best
that they can be. That means helping them to stay safe and take charge of their physical and mental health.

Our goal is for every young person to confidently manage their well-being independently. This includes knowing how to access relevant health services, maintain a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. We also aim to help young people stay safe, make responsible decisions regarding alcohol and substance use, and live independently.

Our support workers talk to young people about their health and wellbeing goals and guide them to achieving them. They can also help to connect young people with specialised professionals and services to provide additional support.

What’s in the Future?

• We will explore local, regional, and national opportunities for young people to share their views on mental health support and help shape how services can be improved.

• We will continue to offer our Reboot West Wellbeing Bursary, offering young people resources and opportunities, which enhance and sustain their wellbeing.

• Our partnership with the Sexual Violence Reference Group will continue to raise awareness among young people and support professionals on the potential harms of self-testing kits marketed for use after sexual assault.

• We will update our Informing Futures toolkit website, which provides resources for professionals to support young people’s health and wellbeing.

• We will continue to fundraise for our specialist mental health and reducing re-offending coaches, as they have been shown to provide critical additional support to young people using our services.

• We will continue to support delivery of Bristol’s new Domestic Violence Strategy in partnership with Next Link. The strategy highlights the importance of dedicated services for children and young people experiencing domestic violence.

WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE SAID

“I have people to speak to about my issues when I need them and Zoe referred me to a healthy relationships coach. When things happen with my ex I know I have someone specialist to turn to.”
