Youth Work Apprentice

We have been awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund to turn our Grade 2* listed building in Old market, Bristol into a vibrant centre for young people. Following this great news, we are recruiting a new team to work on an exciting heritage activity and volunteer programme.

As part of this funding we are able to offer an apprenticeship for someone wanting to start a career in Youth Work. 

You will get the chance to work with our broader Participation and Learning team as well as our heritage team. With these teams you will get lots of experience working with young people delivering social, educational and developmental activities. You will also have a day a week to focus on coursework that will enable you to gain a recognised level 3 qualification in Youth work.

Who are we? 

We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625ip we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives. 

What you will be doing: 

• Working alongside colleagues running activities, moving to leading your own sessions 

• Contacting young people to encourage attendance and establish their interests 

• Helping young people get involved in decision making and taking the lead 

• Updating client information and keep accurate records 

You will be in the Participation and Learning Team and your line manager will be our Senior Heritage Activities Coordinator.

Contract details  

• Hours per week: 37.5 (1 day of which is for study) 

• Contract type: Fixed term for 18 months 

• Pay: £22,327.00 per annum 

• The location: Kingsley Hall
