At 1625, we are passionately dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our colleagues, empowering them to excel in their careers. Explore Jodie Lansdown’s journey in our latest instalment of ‘Career Progression Stories.’

“I started my career working with vulnerable young people with night stone at Bristol Foyer. When circumstances changed and 1625 took over the contract I was moved over to the South Glos office in Patchway as a part time administrator. As a young single parent myself ,1625 catered for my needs and made it easy for me to have a good work/ home life balance.

I enjoyed the administrator role and made great working relationships with my colleagues. I was the anchor for the South Glos team and always felt part of the team. I gained new skills and had a great support network around me.

I really started to miss the front line work with young people. I was very fortunate when a maternity cover opportunity come up as a support worker in the floating support team at South Glos which was also part time/ job share It felt great to be back in my dream role and have the opportunity and to use my skills in working with Young people again. I was given appropriate training and the other support workers went above and beyond to support me. The work was very different from my previous role in a hostel so I had lots to learn. I couldn’t be happier with the work I was doing, I was always supported, encouraged to take steps outside my comfort zone and progress my skills.

Now a Mum of 3 and taking maternity twice while working at 1625 , Fast forward to 2023, I am now given the opportunity to take on a permanent full time support worker position. This was a huge decision for not just myself but as a family. I knew it would be difficult to balance working full time with a young family. I have no regrets taking this role on, Its so rewarding to be part of a team making a difference to young peoples lives.”
