Managing Money

Most people struggle with their finances at some point in their lives. The important thing is to get help as soon you can.

1625ip and the people working here can help you manage your money in lots of ways –

We can help you work out how much you have coming in compared to how much you have going out – this helps you know where you are at and helps you stay in control

We can help you apply for any benefits you might be entitled to

We can help you apply for any grants or discounts that could be available to you

We can help you learn some tips and tricks to make the most of the money you have – even if you don’t have much!

We can try to help you reduce your utility bills – gas, water, electricity

We can sign you up for a money management session or short course

We can help you set up bank accounts, payment plans, direct debits and standing orders which will help you manage money in and out

If you need help managing rent payments, we can work out a plan with you (this is important to make sure you can keep your home)

If you are struggling with debts (including rent), we can help you get support from an independent debt adviser (i.e., someone outside of 1625ip)

If someone is taking advantage of you, controlling your money, taking money from you, forcing you to buy things for them – let us know and we will help you

Here are some resources you can use yourself.
