WHAT WE DO

1625 Independent People works with young people aged 16 to 25 in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset.

We work to prevent youth homelessness, as through early intervention with young people, we can better work to end homelessness. Our Bristol Youth MAPS project successfully supports young people to remain at home, where it is safe to do so.

For a full list of our projects, see our Impact Report.

We support those who are already homeless and those at risk of homelessness, including young people who are rough sleeping, and those who are hidden homeless. 1625ip provides support to help young people find and/or sustain their accommodation as well as providing safe and stable supported housing that is affordable and accessible.

Most young people we support have experienced childhood trauma. We offer specialist services to support young people to manage and overcome their trauma, and build confidence so they can thrive as an independent adult.

We also provide a range of specialist support to help young people secure and sustain suitable education, employment and training.

Our Projects

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?

We will try to keep you safe and help you progress on to independent living

Your dedicated support worker will talk to you about your situation and your needs.

We will ask you about your strengths, skills, interests, goals and ambitions, and work with you to create a personalised plan.

We will involve you in the decisions that affect you. This includes giving you the opportunity to get involved in making decisions about the organisation and our services.

If you’re a young person, what can we help with?

This depends on your situation and what you have come to us for. It can include advice, housing, learning to live on your own, coping with problems and developing confidence and skills.
