We house and support young people to build independent lives.<\/p>\n<p>Our aim is to make sure everyone gets something out of your volunteering experience; you, us and the people we support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heritage oral history project volunteer<\/strong> <strong>(Aged 18+) Approx 3 \u2013 4 hours per week for 6 &#8211; 10 weeks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The role: Working in pairs\/small groups with our young people, to research, prepare and create a podcast on Kingsley Hall\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Based in Old Market area and at recording studios around<\/li>\n<li>Support young people to create a series of heritage related podcasts.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers work alongside young people to learn and develop key skills<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers will be supported by the Heritage Team Volunteer<\/li>\n<li>Use 1625 Independent People Archives to research material for<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiasm\/interest in developing new skills<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiastic about working in a small team<\/li>\n<li>Interest in exploring heritage and related ideas<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work alongside young people.<\/li>\n<li>Digital skills welcome but not necessary (training provided).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A friendly, supportive team<\/li>\n<li>Travel expenses (inc. mileage where needed)<\/li>\n<li>Free tea\/coffees at offices<\/li>\n<li>Full induction, training and regular support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Closing date for applications \u2013 5pm Friday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1625 Independent People is committed to promoting equal opportunity and diversity.
