Everything 1625 Independent People (1625ip) does is about our young people. The only way we can do this properly is to make sure the young people have a clear voice and influence in our charity.
Helping guide our Board of Trustees and management is our Youth Board. Made up of current and previous service users, all aged 16 to 25. They represent their peers, raise issues and innovative ideas of how we can best support our young people. We value their input and a Trustee and Senior Manager attend the meetings, ensuring they are heard.
What do they do?
They do lots of things! Including:
-
Contributing directly to service development, consultations, identifying issues and priorities
-
Using personal experience to improve user experience
-
Represent the charities at presentations, awards and events, like meeting the mayor
Their current focus is on promoting healthy relationships and are busy working on a variety of projects!
