Photographer & Videographer Volunteer

We are looking for volunteer photographer & videographers to commit to volunteering in our Communications & Marketing team, to provide their skills on an ad hoc basis.
It will be based in mainly Bristol, and partly in South Glos.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a charity and support vulnerable young people, by using your skills in photography and videography.

We are looking to develop a ‘pool’ of photography & videographer volunteers. It will therefore be flexible depending on your availability at the time of the opportunity. Some opportunities may just be a couple of hours work (photos of the Youth Board), and others might be a couple of days work (for example filming & editing a story of a young person).

We’re really keen to expand the imagery that we have and therefore we are looking for a photographer to support us with this ambition. We also want to build a range of films, to explore more creative, inspiring and impactful ways of communicating our work, in a digitally-focused world.

Some examples include
  • Photography at a fundraising event (in a COVID safe way)
  • Photography of our Youth Board
  • Photography for staff profile photos
  • Photography of a house renovation
  • Taking photos of a young person, to be presented alongside a case study/story that they provide us
  • Filming and editing a story of a young person who struggles with mental health and has received support from us
  • Filming the range of housing support options that we have
  • Filming a ‘what to expect’ film for young people who present themselves as homeless
  • Filming an interview with a young person

You will be supervised by our Communications & Marketing Officer, and you will be working with whoever is on the other side of the lens! For example – young people, colleagues and corporate supporters.

When an opportunity presents itself, we would contact you (and any other volunteers who have signed up), providing the details and to ask for interest and availability in the opportunity, and it would be up to you to decide if you can commit to it.

Key skills:
  • Photography
  • Filming
  • Editing – video & photos
  • Interest in work alongside young people
  • Access to your own transport (but most will be in a central Bristol location)
  • We do not have access to good quality camera or film – so we ask that you provide your own materials and equipment

We offer:
  • Travel expenses (inc. mileage where needed), lunch if volunteering for a full day, free tea/coffees at offices etc…
  • Access to training
  • Full induction, support and supervision depending on how often you volunteer
  • References for future employment (after six months of volunteering)
