Communications and Social Media Volunteer

We are looking for a dynamic and driven communicator
who is passionate about telling the stories of our young people
and increasing our social media engagement. 

 

The role

This role provides the opportunity for a talented and passionate communicator to improve our visibility and gain invaluable experience. This volunteer will need to understand and represent our young people in a positive way on different online platforms. We ask for one half day or full day per week, Monday to Friday. 
 
Main duties include:
  • Develop our social media engagement, including posts, optimisation and a variety of platforms
  • Develop our case study library, including interviewing clients and creating dynamic stories to use for press, reports and funding applications
  • This is not an exhaustive list and on occasion we may ask for help with other duties, like our eNewsletter.

Where

The role will be based at our head office - Kingsley Hall, 59 Old Market Street, Bristol, BS2 0ER – and the team operates 9am-5pm Mondays to Fridays.
 

Key skills

  • An understanding of young people and a passion to support them in a positive and hopeful way
  • Demonstrable experience of writing copy and online content
  • Demonstrable experience of utilising social media in a professional environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn and be cooperative
  • Attention to detail
