2.6 Challenge

We’re so excited to be a part of the national #TwoPointSixChallenge campaign.

 
This is a challenge for anyone – all ages and abilities can get involved.  Whatever you can do, you can be part of it!
 
Just get thinking of an activity based around the numbers 26, 2.6 or 260 and complete it on Sunday April 26 or during the following week.

  2. Find your us through this link and set up a page on JustGiving (it’s easy)
  3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you
  4. Complete your 2.6 challenge!
 
Dream up your 2.6 challenge
Here’s some of our suggestions for you
  • Give something up for 26 hours/ 2.6 hours
  • Go for a for 2.6 mile walk, run or cycle.
  • Walk up and down the stairs 26 times… maybe for 2.6 hours
  • 26 minutes of dancing - make a zoom meeting and have a dance party with 26 friends
  • Can you tell 26 people about youth homelessness?
  • Can you check in on 26 people – neighbours, grandparents, friends?
  • 2.6 minutes or 2.6 hours of self-care -Whatever that means to you.
  • 2.6 hours of learning something new / you’ve always wanted to learn
  • Sleep Out with us on the 26th April
 
Don’t worry if you’re not able to get out your house or flat for now. We’re not looking for superheroes - we’re looking for Home Heroes. There are no rules (apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely).
 
 
Fundraising with JustGiving

Share a link to your JustGiving page and ask for sponsorship and donations.
 
Make sure you share your pictures or videos of your challenge on social media using the official hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge and tag 1625 Independent People to be part of the campaign (@1625ip / #1625ip)

Here is how £26 help young people:
 
  • A selection of books, puzzles, art/craft and entertainment for a young person who is stuck in isolation. It will support their mental health and wellbeing.
 
  • Provide unlimited data on a smartphone for a month an essential for a YP who is isolating themselves.
 
  • Provide essential items for a young person who is shielding for up to a week such as toiletries, sanitary items and food.
