Summer Chill Out 2010

Thursday 2 September 2010

The first Independent People Summer Chill Out...

The first Independent People Summer Chill Out... August 24th started with pouring rain which was set to ruin our day at The Trinity Centre, Bristol - but we ignored it... set up the marquee and started the barbie. Then the sun came out and so did over 45 of our service users and over 15 staff and Board members. Some of the young people we support were able to test out their newly gained culinary skills by sourcing, preparing and then cooking food on the BBQ, which included halal chicken, lamb kebabs and veggie skewers. They catered for over 70 people, a huge achievement for which they should be very proud. They say pictures speak louder than words... There was Henna Tattoing... An Art project and DJ Workshop... Some people got V-Awards for volunteering... Some people got special V100 awards for doing over ONE HUNDRED HOURS! There was a live PA from "Relly" and "Middle Man" with tracks from the newly released "Merger" CD And everyone had a smile on their faces... A successful day all round!
