Equal opportunities for everyone
We safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We expect all our staff to do this and to have appropriate criminal and reference checks. Any job offer will depend on a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Barred List Disclosure Check.
We believe ex-offenders should have an equal chance to become employees or volunteers. Having a criminal record does not automatically mean you can’t work here. We will take the time to consider the offence, the role and the risk.
We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunities employer for everyone regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race  (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex (gender) or sexual orientation. Our workforce should represent our community.
We are particularly keen to increase applications from Black and Minority Ethnic groups as they are currently under-represented. This said, all applications are only considered on merit.
We do everything we can to make sure our recruitment opportunities don’t have barriers for disabled applicants. If you have a disability and need an adjustment made to any part of the recruitment process please let us know as soon as possible.
Some examples of types of adjustments we can make are:
  • If you have dyslexia and need extra time during assessments, this can be agreed.
  • If you use a wheelchair or have limited mobility we can make sure your interview is in an accessible room.
  • If you have back pain and need to stretch we can provide breaks in an interview.
