Scaling it down

Avon Gorge Abseiling
In April a bunch of young people who use our services in South Gloucestershire and some staff recently went on an Activity Day.

Not sure they knew what they had let themselves in for...

A staff member said...
"The first part of a day was abseiling in the morning and circus skills in the afternoon. At the start of the day down in the Avon Gorge it looked like it may stay dry, but as the abseiling began the rain began to pour down.  This didn’t dampen the mood as most of the group had done this sort of thing before and were soon hurling themselves down at a rate of knots, very brave.

Bravest of all was Kelly who was not keen on heights and had never done an activity like this before, she did really well to conquer her fear and get to the bottom in one piece!
We then made our way to the Kingswood Foundation where we had lunch followed by an afternoon of juggling, trapeze, plate spinning, Diablo, ribbon swirling etc.  Again everyone really enjoyed themselves and learned new skills and new interests.  A fantastic day all round!"

Funding

South Gloucestershire Council funded the activities from a pot of money targetted at helping young people access positive activities.
