In South Gloucestershire, we are able to offer high quality and affordable temporary accommodation (maximum of two years) in nine self-contained, unfurnished flats each with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living area We also provide housing support to help young people manage their tenancy. We have excellent links with Filton College (the main Further Education College in South Gloucestershire) including a joint assessment process of young people’s needs
We offer on-going support from the college and Connexions to help young people access and sustain Education and Training courses or Employment (this could be joining a Filton College course, or could be taking part in any other type of training education or employment)
We offer a pre-tenancy programme after being successful at an interview. It involves around four sessions looking at tenancy responsibilities, budgeting, furnishing the flat, planning for training, education, getting to know local community.
We only house 16 to 25 year olds who have a local connection to South Gloucestshire and are in need of housing according the South Gloucestershire Council. Applicants have to complete a pre-tenancy programme with our support.
Applicants must be able to manage a tenancy (things like manging bills, budgeting, sticking to the rules in the tenancy contract, looking after the property) with limited support. Applicants are also expected to engage in the support we offer and attend training education or employment opportunities.
As with all our housing - we cannot house people directly - referrals must come through the council. You can apply through South Gloucestershire Housing and Support Access Service on the South Gloucestershire Council Website
