"Give me a home" raises over £3,500
On Friday 19 November over 50 people attended our "Give me a Home" Charity Art Auction and Sale.
Between them they raised over £3,500 to improve services for homeless children and young people in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Thank you to everyone who bought art and helped us to achieve this incredible sum of money!

Every penny of the proceeds will be spent on property maintenance and provision of positive activities and skills based learning for the young people we support.
Due to the incredible generosity of our staff and friends of the organistion, the event itself cost us very little and this is entirely down to: |
- The Farm! It's their generosity that allowed us to exhibit the art in the first place and have a great party afterwards.
- The AMAZING artists without whose contributions we wouldn't have had an event! All the lovely work was donated for free - see the preview catalogue here for a list of their work and contact details.
- The Auctioneer - Tom O'Fun worked for free having travelled from Birmingham on the night in the fog.
- Setting up on the night - Leonna Chambers - who was also a guest speaker, Joni Lloyd, Susi Garcia, Lisa Garcia and Debra Barrett - who also donated wine for the reception.
- A particularly huge thanks to Sam Tajdin from Bristol Sound Rental - who loaned us hundreds of pounds worth of sound equipment/PA system for the bands/DJs on the night (delivered and collected them too!)
- Our guest band - Trailer Park - they played for free even though they had been offered a paying gig (we think you rock and you did!)
- The Legendary Barry for living up to his name and being a legend on the mic.
- Our free DJ's Apple Rumble who kept the party going.
- Sean Harding, Ian Smith and Tony Parkinson for setting up the Theatre Costume Studio Portraits and being our free photographers for the night.
- Lisa Cormack and the Bristol Old Vic for loaning us fantastic theatre costumes and helping people decide who they wanted be that night (in the freezing cold)
- Boots and Comet in Avon Meads for donating photographic paper.
- Westbury Ink and Cartridge World for donating printer ink.
- Richard Madley of Dreweatts for the loan of his gavel.
Last but not least, a massive thank you to Youth Involvement Worker Joni Lloyd and Chief Executive Dom Wood - our fabulous Auction Assistants... (move over Debbie McGee) |
