They ran for it!

23/05/2011
Bristol 10K runners Staff and young people ran the Bristol 10K to raise money for more positive activities for our young people to take part in.

Sunday 15 May, while much of the city snoozed, staff members Sam and Ben and service users Chantelle and Duwayne were limbering-up and stretching-out calf muscles for the Bristol 10K run.

Between them they raised over £300! Congratulations to them all for completing the run and all in around an hour.

Sam Tajdin, Support Worker has been running a club called " Run for it" which takes young people out and about running around Bristol. This is part funded by Quartet Community Foundation's Active Bristol Fund, which paid for running shoes for young people who can't afford them. The aim is so they can join a club, doing something active and meet other people.

There's still time to donate, all the money will go towards keeping the running club going and providing safe training gear for young people whose only barrier might be bad footwear!
