Young tenants in social housing are being offered the opportunity to receive a FREE room makeover worth £500, with the help of a professional designer, access to upcycling classes and a £50 budget for materials. As if that wasn't enough, redecorated rooms are then eligible to be entered into a competition to win a further £100 of DIY vouchers.
The opportunity is being offered as part of 1625ip's Big Lottery Funded Cash Pointers
project, which helps young people to learn budgeting skills and make the most of their money. To be eligible applicants must be 16-25 years old, have their own tenancy or licence agreement and be prepared to work with the interior designer and Cash Pointers project worker.
Interior designer Hannah has been working with young council tenant Amber to redecorate her bedroom. Check out the article on p.13-14 in the Spring issue of Bristol City Council
's Housing News
, including Hannah's top tips on how to decorate on a budget. They're also the cover stars!
Eligible council tenants like Amber are being offered an extra £100 of vouchers by Bristol City Council if their entry wins the competition and need to follow the entry instructions in Housing News. Young social housing tenants not housed by the council can contact Cash Pointers directly on 0117 317 8800.
