St George's House is a 25 bed 24-hour project for young homeless people in Hotwells, Bristol. We provide temporary accommodation to 16-25 year olds, who are referred to us by the Local Authority’s Housing Team and Social Services. We provide single rooms with shared kitchen facilities and a communal space. The project is staffed 24 hrs a day and has a minimum of two staff on at any time. We provide a co-ordinated and tailored support service to everyone who lives with us.
You have experience of working in an environment where support is provided. You are considerate about the causes of homelessness amongst young people and the barriers they face and have good understanding of maintaining boundaries with the client group.
You need a good understanding and awareness of Health and Safety requirements in a hostel setting and of the importance of working within equal opportunities, safeguarding and confidential guidelines.
You are physically fit and able to communicate on different levels both verbally and in writing.
