(Formerly Priority Youth Housing and Wayahead Housing and Support) Independent People is the leading provider of housing, support and advice to young people aged between 16 and 25 in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We exist to support young people to build independent lives. We do this by helping people find (and keep) a safe, stable home. We also offer non-judgmental support and advice on counselling, training and help finding jobs. No other organisation in the area has the same wealth of experience and resources.
Click on a screen below to watch a short video of some of the people we’ve supported, if you double-click it will take you to the YouTube website.
Are you homeless or about to be? Get housing advice here. Our Contact details page has all our numbers and addresses on it. We’re a friendly and experienced bunch and will always try to help. You can come in and see us or give us a call if you have any questions or need information.
We are developing a fresh approach to supporting to young people, it’s based on what they say they need and our own experience of what works and what doesn’t. We think together these two things help us stay on top of our game.
We provide housing, support, help with resettlement after prison through our Inside Out project and Bristol’s only emergency 24 hour accommodation for young people at St George’s House.
If you live in one of our properties, have a look at the Service user information pages for details about maintenance and repairs, who is responsible for what and how to report a repair.
This year's Service User Christmas Party was the best yet according to ... well... everyone!
